My name is Hemantgiri S. Goswami, and I am working as a Team Technical Lead at Pythian operating from his home town - Surat, INDIA. On this page I will be introducing myself, my interest and occupation.

Who am I?

I have close to 14 years of experience, about which 12 years as hard core DBA. I have been a Microsoft SQL Server MVP for four years, and I am a published author of the book - SQL Server 2008 High Availability - a book for SQL Server DBA aspirants, System Administrators and Developers, it provides step-by-step information to get you through the installation of various SQL Server High Availability options like Clustering, Replication, Database Mirroring and Log Shipping.

What do I do?

I am working as a Team Technical Lead in one of the leading DBA consulting firm, working as a remote employee. When I am not busy working, you find me either writing blog articles, reading, drawing skatches sometime and participating on various SQL Server community including:

I also speaks under aegis of Surat User Group, DotNetChaps of which he is founding and active member. Also, I try to be as regular in posting articles as my friend Pinal Dave ( Blog | Twitter ), Vinod Kumar ( Blog | Twitter ) and Satya Shyam K Jayanty ( Blog | Twitter ) does, but I am too lazy to be as focused and dedicated like him.

You may find may different blogs on SQL Server, so my blog contain no differnt materials - except, that the situation we had are different!! So, that's the difference all the blogs have, someone has different situation and differnt approach towards reaching the solutions. I love technology, gadgets, books, however I have been able to restrict myself to write only SQL Server related posts here on this blog. Earlier I used to write posts as it come to my mind, now a days I am trying to be more ogranized while posting an article. I believe that I am blessed, that I have got real good projects during my career, it has been really very much enjoyable journey, I have made new friends and the number is still counting on....
